NFL Betting Trends: Week Three Part 1

by Hillary LaClair, Senior Editor

Anyone who may have some money invested in online NFL sports betting should take a look at the teams’ development this season. Based on the performances so far, it should be easier to predict which teams are going to go somewhere this year, and which teams are going to flop. A few of the latest games have surely made an impression with internet sportsbooks.

Consider betting trends of each team and their past games. For example, the Green Bay Packers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games, 20-4 SU in their last 24 games, and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games at home. The Packers have gone over in 5 of their last games. In their last game against the Detroit Lions, Green Bay won with at 48 to 25. Aaron Rodgers is largely responsible for this. As a veteran, he has played consistently well and contributes greatly to the team’s offense. The Lions are a joke this season as usual. As far as betting trends go, Detroit is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games, 1-9 SU in their last 10 games, and 0-5 ATS in their last five games away from home. Finally, the total has gone over in 7 of Detroit’s last 8 games. Online sports bettors could make some money betting on the over in Detroit games.

The New York Giants are having another great season, and this may be partially due to their amazing comeback in the Super Bowl. This team is certainly worth wagering on. The Giants are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games, 5-0 SU in their last 5 games, and 1-4 SU in their last five games at home. The total has gone under in 4 of their last 6 games. In their last match with the St. Louis Rams, the Giants won with 41 to 13. Needless to say, the Rams who are 05 ATS in their last 5 games (3-6 ATS in the last 9 games away from home), 0-5 SU in their last 5 games and 2-7 SU in their last 9 games away from home are not a safe investment by any means.

Finally, look at the Titans and Bengals game. There was no contest. The Tennessee Titans are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games, 5-1 SU in their last 6 games, and 6-2 SU in their last 8 games at home. The total has gone under in 5 of Tennessee’s last 5 games.  The Titans stole the show with 24 to 7, following the switch from Vince Young to Kerry Collins. The Cincinnati Bengals were no match for Tennessee’s offense and have none of their own. Count on the Bengals to go under in their next online sports betting affair. The total has gone under in 7 of Cincinnati’s last 8 games. They stand at 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games, 7-14 SU in their last 21 games and 7-14-1 SU in their last 22 games.
