It was thought by some that in 2007 the Buffalo Bills (7-9) might challenge the Patriots. But the Bills finished a distant second and, for the fifth year running, out of the playoffs.
2007 was Trent Edwards rookie year and it was a good one. He completed 151 of 269 passes (56%) for 1,630 yards and seven TDs. He tossed eight interceptions. Edwards, who worked on his arm strength in the off-season, is a fine leader and a good decision maker. Although WR Lee Evans’ output fell off a bit last season, he should thrive in the Bills’ new open system. Draft pick James Hardy at wideout is a big, fast target who should excel. Last season rookie RB Marshawn Lynch (280 CAR, 1,115 YDS, 4.0 AVG, 7 TDs) was a standout. The offensive line has been upgraded, which is good news for the running game.
